With a total of&nbsp;<strong>13.9 million overnight stays<\/strong>This form of&nbsp;<strong>Flexible Accommodation<\/strong>&nbsp;has experienced an impressive increase of&nbsp;<strong>6,1%<\/strong>&nbsp;year-on-year, confirming its position as the preferred option for a large proportion of travellers. The&nbsp;<strong>campsites<\/strong>&nbsp;have also contributed positively, with&nbsp;<strong>8.2 million overnight stays<\/strong>&nbsp;and a growth of&nbsp;<strong>1,5%<\/strong>while the&nbsp;<strong>rural tourism<\/strong>&nbsp;has maintained its attractiveness with a slight increase of&nbsp;<strong>0,4%<\/strong>&nbsp;y&nbsp;<strong>1.4 million stays<\/strong>. The only discordant note was the hostels, which registered a slight decrease of 1.8%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>International demand reaffirms itself as the main driver of this growth. Of the 24.3 million overnight stays,&nbsp;<strong>15 million<\/strong>&nbsp;were accounted for by non-resident travellers, compared with&nbsp;<strong>9.3 million<\/strong>&nbsp;of residents in Spain. This strong traction of the foreign market underlines the global attractiveness of the&nbsp;<strong>Flexible Accommodation<\/strong>&nbsp;Spanish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Geographically, the distribution of success has been diverse. The&nbsp;<strong>Valencian Community<\/strong>&nbsp;has positioned itself as the leader in tourist flats, with&nbsp;<strong>2.8 million overnight stays<\/strong>.&nbsp;<strong>Catalonia<\/strong>&nbsp;has been the most popular destination for campsites, accumulating&nbsp;<strong>2.8 million stays<\/strong>. Y&nbsp;<strong>Asturias<\/strong>&nbsp;has excelled in rural tourism, with&nbsp;<strong>209,103 overnight stays<\/strong>demonstrating the richness and variety of the extra-hotel offer throughout the territory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This growth in volume does not come alone. The&nbsp;<strong>Extra-Hotel Accommodation Price Index (IPEXTRA)<\/strong>&nbsp;has registered a&nbsp;<strong>increase of 4.2%<\/strong>&nbsp;in July. This increase in the value of stays, coupled with the rise in occupancy, paints a picture of a healthy sector, capable of attracting more travellers while improving its profitability.
